My own diagnosis came with labels that felt limiting. In school, I intimately knew the frustration of feeling ‘behind’ and the loneliness of feeling ‘different.’ But through resilience, faith, and finding the right mentors, I began to see my mind not as broken, but as differently wired—possessing unique strengths. This shift changed everything. I moved from coping to advocating, first for myself and then for others. Working in education, I saw a critical gap in support for teens and young adults with learning differences, especially as they faced future planning. This insight ignited the vision for Beyond Obstacles Ministries: to build a bridge from diagnosis to a confident, purpose-driven life.
